1hot wins the round with her $49.00 sale. Congrats once again as it is hard to pick the very top.
I like to play the "trade around the ex-dvidend date" game, but I buy back within a day or two following the ex-dividend date because I don't want to be in a position of not owning ENB. If I leave an extra dollar on the table with an extended downturn, so be. I intend to own ENB up to or beyond my target of $70 per share (not a 12 month target) and picking up about $8 per year while I wait works just fine for me.
I like picking up about $2 per share per share four times per year at a tax rate of 25% (on the capital gain) as opposed to $0.835 per share four times a year at a tax rate of 29% (on the dividend)
Sarge likes to earn less than half the return and pay the higher tax rate. He also likes to repeat his strategy endlessly as if we are all stupid and forget between his posts. He obviously didn't earn his stacks with his brain which is why he and the Bibiot make a good team. Those guys are slow, but they certainly brag a good game. My jabs at these idiots feel a bit like cruelty to helpless animals, but I can go forever when bullies try to intimidate well meaning posters.
To each his own, I buy and hold and once a stock gets overweigh in my portofolioo ,I sell some.
Good Luck
