RE:special dividend is a brain-dead move. Does nothing for Relax the stock price may have fell a lot much further if the dividend wasn't announced as people are continuing to hold to receive the payout.
Be grateful for your extra 6% in gains while every lumber stock is doing poorly right now.
There isn't a single lumber stock that has a dividend yield as high as IFP's and that was an insignificant amount of their total cash on their balance sheet. (130M of 750M)
Not to mention you only have to hold for 2 weeks to get it meanwhile for every other lumber stock you have to hold for a year to get your 1%-5% dividend yield.
They said in their recent NR that the NCIB is still a top priority for capital allocation.
They're printing lots of money each week at these lumber prices and there's no doubt they resumed the buyback with these dips we've been seeing.
They have until June 10th to disclose the shares they purchased and cancelled in May so we will see.
Market has been down, including all lumber stocks and you're complaining about IFP?
It sounds like you're playing the short game and losing money right now.
