Not sure why, but you constantly point out the failings of CNR to deliver stock, Ridley not having enough stock to fill tankers and now they apparently have to much stock.  I have not seen facts presented to back up those claims so assume it is speculation on your part.

IR said in their response if any further questions to not hesitate to contact them at Investor.Relations@altagas.ca  IR responded within an hour of me asking my question.

So why is Constitution going to RIPET.  IR says "volume optimization".   Alright.  Thats one way to describe it.  Another way  is : RIPET  will be running out of storage before Gas Wisdom  arrives,   so RIPET needs to unload  12000 tonnes of propane (which is  125,000bbls  or  2 days of  plant throughput) so that railcars and plant employees  are not idle.

Thank you for your interest in AltaGas. That is an astute observation. Since taking ownership of Ferndale mid-December 2020, we engage in a general business practice of volume optimization. Ferndale differs from RIPET in that it has capacity to ship both butane and propane, whereas RIPET only ships propane. Depending on the current pricing and other market dynamics, we may elect to fill ships at Ferndale and then at RIPET, and vice versa, in order to maximize profits.

I was thinking along the lines of prototype , development , proof  of concept.  An experiment  to work out the bugs  to prepare RIPET  for butane handling and export .  The license would not be a commercial 25 year  but   a short duration of  1 or 2  ship loads of 12,000 tonnes.  Should be easy to get  I would think  (prototype /development license) 
 
I  do think Constitution going to RIPET is more than to pick up  12,000  tonnes of propane.   There’s lots of propane in FERNDALE  so there’s no need to go to RIPET.

Why  go to RIPET?

I noticed the RTI site you use was a little late in reporting Constitution.  No worries, glad I could point it out, coming from Ferndale that is.

Also, I believe you are incorrect supposition Constitution is going for Butane.  Both Altaga liscences are for propane specifically, not Butane and Propane.

I suspect that Constitution is  at Ridley to load product other than propane.  The most likely product would be  butane. Butane has a much higher spread than propane.   We  already know that Ferndale  would export butane and perhaps a stopover at RIPET to  "fill  up  the tank".    VLGC vessel construction usually has 4 independant refrigerated tanks that can transport  different products if needed.
