RE:well another EV battery...There are a lot of different companies producing batteries, and I am sure more to come. But there are not enough companies to produce the ingredients, and as Bernard has said each company has their own recipe of what makes up their battery. As we all know silicon is going to replace other ingredients in the battery. As the silicon helps hold a charge longer, and can charge faster, and is more abundant and cheaper.
So many companies are saying they have mining claims that hold some of the most important ingredients for batteries, rare earth minerals. But they haven't even started mining operations yet, all they have is a large chunk of land full of rocks. No equipment, no processing facility, no roads, no rail roads, etc, etc.
HPQ has the Quartz and the technology to turn that into nano silicon powders/wires. Now they are scaling up the operation to mass produce. For those who have not read through the HPQ timeline and plan I would encourage you to do so.
Sure there will be more and more EV battery manufactures entering the market place that just means that HPQ's customer base is growing. Future looks bright in my opinion.
