3 out of 4Here are my 3 candidates for the 4 undisclosed patents (Titles not yet publicly disclosed) in the 2020 10-K. They are not mentioned in the list with 13 patent applications (US patents that have been filed but have not been granted yet) – dated February 25, 2021.
1.
Use of Scandium in Lithium-Ion Batteries (September 24, 2020)
2. The Company filed for US Patent Office protection through
patent application filings on HPA processing technology in 2020
3.
Recovery of Critical Metals from SX-EW Copper Raffinate and other Solutions Derived from Leaching Ores with Sulfuric Acid. In the May 20, 2021 news release about this patent: ‘
The other pending final application is more encompassing with regard to metals targets identified and covered, including nickel, cobalt, copper, zinc, manganese, beryllium, aluminum, rhenium and scandium (and others)’.
I couldn’t find this patent in the database. So, date filed is unknown, but I’m convinced it was well before May 13, 2020. Most of the above-mentioned metals are listed in the
CMR news release, dated May 13, 2020. In that news release: ‘
The Company has filed for patent protection on various aspects of its relevant technical program ideas with the US Patent Office, using technical information from preliminary bench scale testing with actual copper SX raffinate solutions.’
4.??? Maybe it has to do with recovery of
Rare Earths (REEs), but this is
pure speculation. REEs were mentioned in the May 13, 2020 news release: ‘Recovery metals targeted by this application include cobalt, copper, nickel, scandium, and zinc, and possibly other metals
and rare earth elements, depending on recovery economics’. REE prices have soared since then (doubled). Why haven't they been mentioned anymore, specifically? Or are they included in: '(and others)', see above.
Recall that InvestorIntel banner: focused on the development of scandium,
rare earths and other strategic materials.

We are so lucky to have (have had) people like Willem Duyvesteyn and Nigel Ricketts (RIP) on the team, brilliant people that set SCY apart from many of the other juniors!
