Institutional players might be locking up the range trying to flip a half cent or cent, but really its chump change, and has very little to do with the stocks underlying fundamentals.
Mix that with people borrowing shares to short against the float and its the perfect setup. They're taking the weakness in the sector, knowing the market isnt too hot on pot right now, and using that volume against the stock.
Meanwhile, they're buying on the ATS and other exchanges and accumulating while having no effect on the shareprice. It was up big time on the Frankfurt exchange the other day and was only a penny on the TSX... You know, the one your platform DOES track.
The funny thing is they do all this behind the scenes, and fleece retail. Making them think theres an underlying issue with the company itself. People get tired of the unrealized loss and a few Rookies sell.
All the while they're collecting shares behind your back, for the inevitable run back up. Or in some cases, the buyout.
Liberty health shareholders got fleeced for months before another company came in and gave them a 50% premium. All the while the people with no forseight or patience sold.
