Definitely some trade-off studies that need to be done, especially if additional infrastructure / capex is required to achieve the flexibility of a mixed end product.
Most of the time, nickel sulfate (the chemical required for EV batteries) trades at a premium to "regular" nickel, but not always (it's been discounted at a lower price before). And the fact that this premium/discount is in a state of flux exacerbates the difficulty of optimization calculations.
Metal markets are immensely complex. Hopefully MS does talk about this tomorrow. GLTA.
