Part of their trial premise is to prove superiority of the cell pouch over portal vein injection (economize on islets, survivability, no inflamation). Question now, why didnt they transplant the additional islets into the pouch and what is the true efficacy of the pouch. To me they mucked up the trial of the cell pouch as a device, even though they succeeded with a good patient outcome.
