RE:It’s happening ....

RE:It’s happening ....It's my hope that any cobalt processor or processor wannabe reads the writing on the wall....from our Cobal news...

" That said, the use of recycled cobalt in EV batteries is not likely to pose a strong challenge to primary cobalt producers, Julie Liang, environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) director of CMOC said, citing the quick adoption of EVs globally, which will incite more demand of cobalt than can be fully covered by recycled materials…Given the industry's heavy dependence on supply from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) ahead of large-scale battery recycling, and associated concerns over human rights issues in the supply chain, panelists agreed that the industry should reach a consensus on responsible sourcing for cobalt. This should include a focus on human rights, social and environmental responsibility, and traceability, they said…"Clearly there is scope for a deficit [in supply over the coming years, which is why] we are bringing on Mutanda. It is very important that the battery supply chain is honest about the demand, so cobalt producers can right-size their production," Ash Lazenby, a trader at Glencore, said…Production at Mutanda will gradually ramp up to 20,000 tonnes per year from the second half of 2022 through to 2025."
