Mark July 15th on your calendar

Mark July 15th on your calendarPREB has responded to a PREPA request for an extension to the RFP bid submission deadline and to the selection of qualified bidders.

A quote from this RESPONSE is as follows:

"Upon review of the arguments posed in PREPA’s Response, the Energy Bureau
DETERMINES that it is reasonable to extend the deadline for the submission of bids for the
Tranche 1 RFP and an extension of time for PREPA to complete its evaluation of bidder
submission. Therefore, the Energy Bureau GRANTS PREPA’s request to extend the bidder
response submission deadline until June 18,2021 and the Selection of Proposals for Phase
II Evaluation until July 15, 2021."

So bids must be submitted by June 18th. PREPA/LUMA will then have about a month to evaluate the submissions and then Montalva and all of the other bidders' fate will be determined on July 15th. If Montalva is selected on July 15th it will proceed to the second qualifing phase of the first RFP tranche. I'm not sure if the successful candidates will be publicly released as I believe all the communication/negotiation is done inside the password protected "Power Advocate" proposal submission platform. Hopefully Jeff will let us know if we advance in the RFP process. It might make for a nice news release as well.

I imagine it's a bit chaotic at PREPA right now since Luma is set to take control of PREPA and their responsibilities on June 1st. I'm hoping the delays stop once Luma takes over, but who knows.
