Re:RE:Re:RE:RE:RE:Philippines political situationU. As I said, I must defer to your local knowledge. Here in Canada we who are not indigenous are increasingly known as colonizers; it doesn't help that a few days ago a mass unmarked grave was discovered on the grounds of a residential school in British Columbia (Canada had a residential school system for about 100 years where indigenous children were forcibly taken away from parents for months to be educated---or indoctrinated in northern European culture, abused for using their traditional language and ways etc). You might even see it in news, it's going to get worse as investigations continue at other schools all across Canada.
I don't think there's such a disparity between indigenous and mainstream P. cultures---you tell me, I don't know. I know Spain was the colonizer and that the U.S. liberated P. from the Japanese in WW2. In any event, we can agree to disagree about the impact of indigenous affairs in P. regarding the FTAA. I think Oceana is smart enough to do all they can to bring them to the table, involve everyone and anyone in benefitting from Didipio, being as green as possible going forward. Really appreciate it that there's someone on the board who knows first hand what's going on politically. IMO
