The power production is the much smaller part of the project than the CCS gathering infrastructure. At the announcement PowerCo will gush their enthusiasm. They might even be sole or majority provider of investment for the power production.
But the whole thing depends on the far more difficult CCS project coming together- which will fall solely on cash starved Pieridae that cannot raise funds for anything. Lots of talk of the grants, praise and encouragement from the government, and from First Nation partners. Oh.doesnt it look good.
But it all depends on you know who putting it together- you cant do it all on grants. And commercial viability has to be proven for there to be anything forthcooming other than grants.
All the encouraging other partners are actually standing back and waiting. Meanwhile, Sorensen uses this great project to try to finish sweet talking the federal government for that billion dollars to build the LNG plant.... or maybe some unknown investor that sees a project they can pick up really cheap, is selling itself as green...
