Mining conflict in San Rafael

Mining conflict in San Rafaeljunio 01, 2021

It seems that Senator Napolen Gmez Urrutia is not willing to resolve the blockade of the San Rafael mine in Cosala, Sinaloa, which has been without operations for more than 16 months. This weekend the mining leader mobilized sympathizers of the union to support the 14 workers who have taken over the facilities together with Yasser Beltrn and about whom there have been criminal complaints for more than a year. The differences don't stop there. The senator accused the Secretary of Labor, Luisa Mara Alcalde, of intervening to reach a solution a few weeks ago. The president has asked the Secretary of Economy, Tatiana Clouthier, to intervene in the problem in order to avoid an international arbitration between the company and the Mexican government.
