Look at the term for Newcrest /Discovery harbout for example I realize we are not partnering with a major, but some retained ownership is essentual for creating shaeholder value. We want to have some carried intrest....JMHO
There is a carried interest. Its called a net smelter royalty. In this case its 1% and if reduced to 0.5%, SIC receives $1M. This in addition to annual share payments received. This type of arrangement is very very common. SIC receives full benefit if the optionee is successful in its drill efforts. The more successful, the more the shares received are worth and more the net smelter royatly is worth. So not sure why you are sour on this.
