After paying the breakup fee of 350 million or ~ 82 cent per IPL share, brookfield 2nd offer is really 19.75-0.82 = 18.93, that's around 0.49477 share of PPL @38.26. Compare that to PPL offer of 0.5 or $19.13 value for IPL, PPL offer is still superior to brookfield when breakup fee is taken into consideration

I am beside myself.. after all my IPL chest beating and rationalization I might be at the point of letting Pembina have this gem. Maybe they can put it to better use. I'm more inclined to accept PPL's offer each passing hour.

What's capture me now is I'm thinking more about what the combined company could do and the synergies it would have. Maybe at least if there is another storm we could ride it out a bit better instead of clinging to the life raft?

I don't know.. I need to go have some beers and think it through. Perhaps I should sell my IPL position in exchange for Pembina while there is still this price mismatch due to BIP's offer.

I still believe IPL is worth more than what is being offered, but maybe it's unrealistic to expect we will ever get the full value.. at least we retain some of with if we go with PPL.
