Best - take another look at this.   You think OIG is going to war with Lafayette.  Why on earth would they??

worth a look for those who are not clear on the efficacy of NIV.  

Somewhere buried deep in the OIG report there is a fair point.   There are multiple devices and some can be downlevelled to operate as other cheaper ones.  It may not be clear always what mode the NIV is operating in.   Nor is it always clear that the billing stops at end of life.  These strike me as fair concerns and one where a few process enhancements could be made.  Some sort of recertification by the physician every six months ?  Don't know.   But the dismissal of the 98% based on dodgy statistics is definitely not the way to promote good business process.
