RE:PPL is the better partner by far
RE:PPL is the better partner by farPablo, please explain the expertise in Heartland that PPL brings, they've never built, owned or operated a Heartland polypropylene plant.
IPL was going to be a fantastic company after Heartland was commissioned and operating.....it is one of the best things that IPL brings to PPL at this time, and the center piece of interest that Brookfield was looking to take advantage of by trying to take it out. The BoD and management of IPL had the foresight to build the Heartland Complex and correctly anticipated the potential a polypropylene plant would have in expanding IPL. The PPL BoD and management also realized the potential of this type of expansion and were in the process of building their own plant for the same reasons however, almost two years after IPL was already doing so and when the pandemic struck and crude demand shrung and prices dropped PPL cancelled their proposed project in Dec. 2020. Now we,( PPL) are going to take possession of a state-of-the-art polypropylene plant with committed buyers of 60% of the plastic pellets at this time rather than building a complex at this time at enormous costs higher than what Heartland costs. And they will be the only supplier in Canada producing the product. If IPL couldn't continue on its own, then this is the best combination going forwad.
