I hear ya big bag.  You can trick the tax man by not day trading. Safer but to each his own.   

we all have different strategies depending where we are in life or position we are in.  I wasn't blessed with the golden pention  so need to survive on my investments.   When you live off your dividend plays it's important to do two things.  Never spend more than 80:% of annual dividend and reinvest the remainder back into the stock.   On growth positions always know your number when you can take some profits and reinvest in dividend stock.  If you play your cards correctly and are patient you give yourself a nice pay raise every year.   Looking to balance out TFSA portfolio with some covered call ets that pay a nice monthly.  

started day drinking too early and sharing too much. Lol.
