Abcourt Mines Inc. is a Canadian gold exploration company with properties located in northwestern Quebec, Canada. The Company owns the Sleeping Giant mine and mill, where it focuses its development activities. The Sleeping Giant Property is located half-way between Amos and Matagami, in Abitibi, Quebec, in the territory covered by the Plan Nord of the Quebec government. It comprises four mining leases covering an area of approximately 458 hectares and 69 mining claims. The Elder mine and the Tagami property are located 10 kilometers (km) northwest of the mining community of Rouyn-Noranda in Quebec. The properties include over 36 contiguous claims, one mining concession and two mining leases. The Abcourt-Barvue property is located 12 km north of Barraute, 60 km north of the mining community of Val-d’Or, Quebec. It covers over 4,755 hectares with 103 claims and two mining concessions. Its properties also include Flordin, Pershing-Manitou, Vendome, Aldermac, Jonpol and other properties.

RE:RE:RE:RE:What is sad Oldmariner....I used to think that too but I changed my mind. Old Mariner is actually an important part of this discussion board and he has a valid point about the danger of having too much of a public company's control in the hands of one family. ABI would be a stronger and more respected company if there was less family control over the Board of Directors. I do not think that they realize that fact yet. There are three relatives and at least two family friends on the BOD! Think about it for a second. The market is punishing us for it and big players like Eric Sprott have stayed away. There is a reason. It's pretty serious and Normand Hinse should take note and, I hope in the near future, get the family to back off from completely controlling what should be a more independent BOD. 
BTW, I remain a huge shareholder, and I believe that ABI can have a great future, but I speak the truth here, and I think that anyone who is honest with themself will agree that too much control by one family is not good for the company! They are only hurting themselves and the rest of the shareholders in the short as well as the long run.
