RE:Canadian Net-Zero Emissions Accountability Act That's what has been in the work since Sept. 2020 and that was officially adopted June 28. Expect grants/subsidies to be officially delivered over the next few weeks as companies were invited on Dec. 11, 2020 to apply, so probably some RFQ (request for quote) recevied recently.
SIF – Net Zero Accelerator (December 11, 2020)
A Healthy Environment and a Healthy Economy
On December 11, 2020, the Government of Canada announced that it will be investing $3 billion over 5 years through SIF's new Net Zero Accelerator fund to rapidly expedite decarbonization projects with large emitters, scale-up clean technology and accelerate Canada's industrial transformation across all sectors.
Targeted environmental questions on SIF's Statement of Interest (SOI) will be used to formulate a preliminary assessment of your project's environmental impact and GHG abatement.
The SOI will require applicants to provide details on:
- Efforts to minimize the environmental footprint of the company
- Metrics, targets and timeframes for clean technology development or adoption project activities that will result in environmental benefits and GHG reductions
- Other environmental benefits
- Project linkages to Government environmental priorities, including supporting Canada's transition towards a low carbon economy
If you are interested, please send an e-mail to ic.sifadmission-fsiadmission.ic@canada.ca and the Statement of Interest (SOI) package will automatically be sent to you via e-mail.
And looks like this could probably apply to the manufacturing of our torches:
The government also plans to spend $1 billion over the next five years to attract private cash to Canadian clean technology businesses, and to cut the corporate tax rate in half for at least seven years for firms that manufacture such things as wind turbines, electric vehicles and geothermal energy systems. Budget bolsters federal climate plan with $17.6B in new spending April 19
To get there, the budget includes $5 billion earmarked over the next seven years to “support industrial transformation” by helping heavy polluters like oil and gas, cement and steel producers reduce their emissions.
