I'll add to your list of attractive features the fact there is no production treadmill of 20% plus decline rates like conventional producers. No exploration risk. No volatile land and drilling costs etc. the operating costs are higher than most but they are very predictable. Leverage, whether it's financial or operating works both ways and right now both are hugely positive.

I've speculated on this for a long time and it hasn't come to fruition yet, but everyday that passes, its more likely imo. The tax pools will be the final driving factor for a takeout or merger now that the profits of the big boys are going to be enormous. They can now go to shareholder and say they increased production by 35,0000 bpd, increased cash flow and paid a billion that would have gone to taxes anyways. Its a no brainer.
