PyroGenesis Announces Receipt of an LOI for Three 10-Ton DROSRITE(TM) Systems from an Existing Client

... is pleased to announce today that it has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from an existing client, to purchase three 10-ton DROSRITE™ systems. The contract, if finalized, is expected to be in the range of $10-15 Million. 

As a result of an existing client’s decision to expand its aluminum processing facilities, a need to process an additional 30 tons of dross is anticipated. At this stage three 10-ton DROSRITE™ systems are projected to be needed, but this may change to a combination of 5-ton and 10-ton DROSRITE™ systems.

“This is indeed a very interesting development, and one which we did not expect,” said P. Peter Pascali, CEO and Chair of PyroGenesis. “Today’s announcement is confirmation of the rapid adoption of our environmental technologies within the aluminum industry. Our Drosrite™ offering enables smelters to operate in a more economical and environmentally friendly fashion.”

EGA starts up first section of Al Taweelah smelter expansion (aluminiumtoday.com)

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) has announced the start-up of the first section of an expansion to the company’s Al Taweelah smelter.

The 26 new reduction cells at potline 1 at Al Taweelah will now ramp-up to produce some 30,000 tonnes of aluminium per year.

In total EGA is building 66 new reduction cells to extend all three potlines at Al Taweelah. The project will increase production capacity at Al Taweelah by some 78,000 tonnes of hot metal per year. The start-up of the extension to potline 2 and then potline 3 will take place later this year.

The end user verified that the 5,000 TPY DROSRITE™ System was manufactured and operated in accordance with, amongst other things, design specifications. Based on this successful testing, the end user decided to forego performing an additional FAT test on the second 5,000 TPY DROSRITE™ System. Both Systems are expected to be shipped from the USA to the Middle East, within the next four (4) weeks, and are expected to arrive approx. two (2) months thereafter. Before shipping, PyroGenesis is expected to receive an additional ~$2.6MM from DI (representing total receipt from DI to date of over $10MM under the previously disclosed +$25MM DROSRITE™ contract to deliver five (5) 5,000 TPY DROSRITE™ Systems, plus two (2) 10,000 TPY DROSRITE™ Systems).
