RE:RE:RE:Bombardier veut faire du neuf avec du vieuxI think you're right, there's a lot of economic value to be added and captured in the used market. Your post made me think of De Bono, the creative business idea author/guru who passed away recently.

All used jets will be upgraded in house at Bombardier completion center which is ideally setup for retrofit and upgrade. In between new and used aircraft the completion center will be busy and more efficient/productive with no dull time in between. Also as an OEM all the equipment that Bombardier buys they get discount then what the end user gets. So a owner of used bombardier jet will be better off going to bombardier for used jet then to look elsewhere. Also by selling bombardier used aircraft, bombardier can control the price of used jets by how many jets are for sale. Too many used jets selling at one time will cause price drop for new ones. So now bombardier will have little bit of control on that too. The implications of this is tremendous. Now more then ever there are new buyers, and those new buyers will want to start with used jets first to see how it works out for them. Used jets are cheaper but it comes with alot of uncertainty. By starting a certified used jet market with one year factory warranty will put a lot of new buyers at ease. And if they want to upgrade then bombardier is already ahead of the game. By that time bombardier will have a good contacts and knowledge of what customers want and afford. This was well thought out by bombardier to do start this.

It works in the car business where the worst thing that can happen when you buy a used uncertified lemon is you lose money on the next trade in.....................People can complain about Bombardier all they want but their safety standards are the highest in the world.
