RE:RE:Client A = Rio TintoAnd the trialling on plasma technology in Canada in the Rio Tinto report is air, right?
Nice soft bashing. Rio Tinto has HQ in Montreal (Quebec). IOC is indeed located in Labrador City,
in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador ... 18 kms away from the Quebec border (
Labrador City's distance from Quebec border).
But read this also:
Iron Ore Company of Canada (and see the Rio Tinto logo on the top left of this page as Rio Tinto owns IOC)
About IOC We are a leading North American producer and exporter of premium iron ore pellets and high-grade concentrate with average iron grades greater than 66%. Our operations include a mine with five operational pits, a concentrator and a pelletizing plant located near Labrador City, in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. IOC is located in the region known as the “Labrador Trough”, an established basin with significant deposits for the supply of high-grade iron ore products.
We also operate a wholly-owned 418 km railway, the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway (QNS&L), that links our Labrador operations to Company-owned port facilities in Sept-Iles.
We have a nameplate capacity to produce 23.0 million metric tons per year (Mtpa) of high-grade concentrate fines, of which up to 12.5 Mtpa can be processed into a range of higher value pellets. We take pride in ensuring our products are of consistent, reliable and replicable quality; within cargoes and between cargoes.
