RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Newmont Steven, Disclaimer - I am a Newmont shareholder. Don't get me wrong, I think it would be great if NGT had a look at Casino. I think that it would be a pretty good fit for them, with the large annual Au production, good ROR and long mine life. A possible downside is the dependence upon LNG for power production which does not align well with NGT's climate initiatives (NGT is spending $500MM over the next five years to reduce carbon intensity to meet 2030 targets and be a net zero emitter by 2050).
That being said, NGT won't be "forced" to do anything. That they haven't sold Coffee doesn't "prove" anything other than that they haven't sold Coffee. If Coffee doesn't pan out for them for whatever reason NGT could chose to sell it and exit the region altogether.
Goldcorp had a lot of problems that NGT has been fixing and this includes unloading properties. They have been focused on improving G's producing mines, such as Peasquito, Musselwhite, Porcupine and lonore, and have sold other G assets (including Red Lake).
Another thing to consider is that NGT just bought GT Gold for around CDN$ 400MM which increases their investment in BC's Golden Triangle.
Underground development strategy and local infrastructure supports long-term climate initiatives
Significant gold and copper production with potential to develop into a World-Class asset
Attractive all-in sustaining costs over a long mine life with further district exploration opportunities
Adds to Newmont’s existing interest in the prospective Golden Triangle, including ownership in Galore Creek JV

As to carbon intensity, by the end of the decade, a SMR might be available to be deployed for electricity generation. IIRC, Casino needed about 150MW of elecric power for the camp and mine, which would be well within the range of SMR Remote mining is one of NRCAN's SMR use cases https://www.nrcan.gc.ca/our-natural-resources/energy-sources-distribution/nuclear-energy-uranium/canadas-small-nuclear-reactor-action-plan/small-modular-reactors-smrs-for-mining/22698
