From now on, I'm going to report every post that is vulgar or defamatory to anyone. It only takes a few seconds to report a flagrant post. Simply click on report at the bottom right hand corner of an offensive post, pick a catagory from the drop down menu, and leave a brief comment. If SH values our participation and readership, they should value our desire for this forum to be about sharing useful information and opinions.
I don't know how many complaints it will take, but if others start doing the same thing, I think we should be able to rid this thread of posters that demean others and thereby reduce the value of SH to us all.
Respectful disagreement of opinions is the basis of enlightened conversation. Different viewpoints are valuable as nobody has all the answers. The garbage that shows up on SH doesn't add value to any of our lives and I for one would be grateful to see the nonsense and the authors of the nonsense removed.
If the posters who have spent time to build up their fraudulent numbers get banned, I think they lose their precious counts. Since the fake count seems to be the only thing they care about other than spitting venom (they never seem to offer anything of value) maybe they will think twice about disparaging others.
