RE:3rd Well Timing

RE:3rd Well Timing

Cali, Cali, Cali....where to begin!  The seismic "data" that comes in daily is raw shot records, it can't be used for any interpretation or picking of well locations. You can't process it until the whole line is shot, and you need to have many lines shot in a new area like this before you can be comfortable with the processing parameters.

and they have 3 tractors there! Yes, they use three tractors ("Thumpers"), which they use in tandem forming a "source array". Each one drops its weight simultaneously, amplifying the signal and the spacing between the thumpers helps to attenuate ground roll noise. Something else they have to test and design before they shoot.

"We are looking at acquiring some 2D seismic around where the third well will be drilled before we set forth in drilling it."

Grayson's one sentence answer is, as usual, vague and misleading. This sentence implies that they already know where they will drill the third well, they will acquire SOME seismic in this area before drilling. I don't know what this sentence means, but obviously they could drill the third well without having the complete seismic picture. Anything to keep the excitement going!

if you think you know exactly what Grayson means, you're drinking the Koolaid. Their announcements and statements are always vague and misleading.

you wrote " Why you don't think that they can pull the daily readings from one of the locations and compile that in a short while is beyond me, Mr. "expert"."

of course it's beyond you, you're not a geophysicist!!
