RE:Sage Ranch moves on to City Council Planning Commission Upda

RE:Sage Ranch moves on to City Council Planning Commission UpdaA few points of correction to the The Loop Newspaper Reporter who not at the meeting.

1)  The City allows a 7 year build out schedule as a place card holder.  We will build in 4 to 6 years.

2)  The City Planning Director and Chief Engineer Jay Schlosser asked the TCCWD General Manager Tom Neisler what specific issue he had with the water report, and Tom said he could not identify anything specific, he simply said he had not read the report thoroughly.  Jay replied and said Tom had one year to read the report and many weeks to address the changes the City made to satisfy the all the TCCWD concerns.  The City's water lawyer said "Not reading the report was not a viable excuse, nor a legal or valid one". The water report had addressed Sage Ranch contributing 93 AF (I personally own 304 AF from previous purchases) and the City provides the rest.  Tom could not and did not deny those facts.  The Planning Commission then after 3 hours of intense grilling to City Staff, approved the project 4-1.

3) Nixon routinely votes down other matters even without any issues, but losses 4 to 1 in favor. So we were not surprised.  Other members are Financial Planners, Community Leaders, and Aerospace Engineers are as follows:

Here is the make-up of the Planning Commision which voted 4 to 1 to approve.

Charles White

From an article in the Tehachapi News dated March 2019:

“Charles White moved to Tehachapi about 19 years ago and has immersed himself in learning about and serving the community. He is president of Tehachapi Heritage League, for which he is well qualified. His career was spent as an art and museum consultant in the United States, Canada and China.

White currently serves on the city's Planning Commission. He is also on the Main Street board, which promotes historic preservation and economic development to restore prosperity downtown. He is a member of the murals committee and played a large role in selecting artists and locations for the many murals around town.”
