RE:RE:Renewables IPOI have long suspected the ESG investing theme is all talk no money. It's all complaining from people with no money to put where there mouth is. I've been involved/following this movement/idea/ theme since it was called ethical investing. I remember the disappointing returns from the ethical fund started up by vancity back in the 80s. Someone in Florida even launched the unethical fund which only invested in guns, liquor, cigarettes, gambling etc. Guess which one did better financially? Guess which one raised more money? Then the politically correct decided calling it ethical was somehow a mean word and not scientifically satisfactory so it was called "sustainable investing ". Same idea but it allowed nasty industries like forestry if it was done on a sustainable basis. No tree hugger would buy a sawmill when it was just "ethical" or not. Haha. Now it's called esg or carbon neutral or carbon transition. It's just new propagandist naming to me. I'm a big old skeptic but let's see if all those screeching heads on tv put money into twm's latest twist. It's a good test. As a twm shareholder, I'm hoping it's for real but the pragmatist tells me it's not going to be a hot ipo. Not at all.
