RE:the thing i dont get about Electrum et al....Investing in the junior resource stocks can feel like investing in dead money. You invest for one reason only: waiting for a buyout. That can take years or decades, most of us know this. It feels like dead money because you receive no dividends in the interim.
If you get in low enough, the % gain at buyout will often times be greater than a run of the mill stock with a small dividend. The big boys know what they have here in up in the Yukon, they are patient, knowing there will be a payoff one day.
Your best bet is to "ladder your investments" by having some near term buyout candidates, some mid terms and then throw some to something like NCP which is a long term. Put in a few percentage points, bite when the shares are being given away and then you can sit content and not worry about day to day.
If you got in near the top (i.e. over $1) I do feel for you. You can average down or bite the bullet and roll your losses into the next horse you think will gallop faster.
