RE:RE:RE:Time to show something.
here is an article i think there is more to it though and you hit the nail on the head with Russians and Spotnik. What also happened it is in this article the cold war began and under Norad the Americans wanted ballistics more so than the Fighter jets the Avero. It actually broke speed records so people have it wrong when they read this article. It was a very advance jet actually and had it been financed the Canadian aeronautics would have moved by leaps and bounds. From what i read in the article and to my understanding the Americans were going to buy the fighter but decided not to opting for the ballistics. Diefenbaker canceled and scrapped the project to the surprise of the Americans who thought they would get some push back from him. So if the Americans honored their agreement and or Difenbaker wasnt a useless twit things could have been far different for us in terms of where we would have been in terms of aeronautics it was by the looks of it better in tech of this type than the US and most likely other places so I question the US in potentially breaking an agreement to deliberately set the advances back and whether there was something more with Diefenbaker to fold like a cheap deck of cards. Sorry to people down South but historically for the most part Canadians have come out the short end of the stick with our trade deals but because our market is only 1/10th the size and having these convenient ties being closer in proximity than to others as well as established trading ties governments are better off by the looks of it dealing with those they know than those they don't. Again I am sorry to say I think Canada needs to grab a pair and see other options and expand to see if there are more beneficial exchanges elsewhere so as not to keep its eggs in one basket where as i have said historically the free trade has favored the US more so than Canada. Now to bring in stock terms we have Morning Star reporting on Canadian companies and i have seen lot of low valuations i dont know if i trust them as being credible they are a US based outfit from what I can tell. Even our stock exchange being more stable yet is not as prominent as the US again sheer market is a huge determining factor not that the stock and companies are head and shoulders better than a lot if what we have. That said our stupid set up is where people continue to kill companies by manipulating shares and trading the shiate out of them. English Canada also is known to support their industries in the same way as Quebec is which is sad on the country's part. Lot of our stronger companies get killed because people are looking for fast gains vs properly backing Canadian publicly "traded" companies as I said brokerages are more interested in short term and have people trade like mad to make monies this way. Canadians have to do way better or we remain what we have always been called branch plant meaning international companies set up shop here more so than we properly do other places and develop our own industries. Historically we have not which is pretty weak and bad when we are more than capable and no i am not talking about protectionism i am talking about increasing Canadian pride and backing something what Avero is a shining example of how we continuously fail in not doing things in a way to succeed far more. Sorry I dont have access to my desktop and i am horrible with tech but here is the article: 55 years later, biggest question surrounding Avero Aero remains "what if" By Elton Hobson Global News March 25th 2013 5:47 I am and have remain thoroughly disappointed in the lack of initiative and full support for growing our own industries pretty bad actually. My objective when way better off is to help people fund their projects (to some extent) i.e. things like seed money for making jewelery soaps indie films etc. The entrepreneurial spirit which Canada heavily lacks in...i admire the US and other countries who are far more ahead. It is about building and funding local growth and not looking for fast returns. The seed monies that i look to use no strings attatched just go out follow your passion and thrive...that is a big part of why i say i am after a billion plus the other to see my family and friends looked after...and so my life long pursuit using stocks as a vehicle is that. I will use short medium and long term strategies with my holdings once the time comes seeing only my goal nothing else!!!
