The Clydesdale cavalry arrived a bit too lateUnfortunately IPL is getting scrwd by both parties at this point. Brookfield does not want the pipes so they’ll make a deal with PPL to take those over, not to be announced immediately, but in due course. Lots of preamble in the news releases.

Brookfield is interested in Heartland to tout the quite “clean” process of making plastics, more so than anyone else and it will be the only such facility in Canada. Don’t forget that Mark Carney is the “clean & green” guy at Brookfield these days.

I truly think the committee did the best they could, but they were a bit too late. The previous CEO left because he was overruled re Heartland. I guess he was right. Perfectly good company wrecked, although they might have pulled it off if it were not for covid. They skated a bit too close to the edge. And life moves on…
