Back half of '22sounds about reasonable since Schumer stated that they might be able to get some kind of triggering bill passed by next April.
Canopy isn't just Canada but is actually a real International company that launched in Canada into a sea of optimism and heartache.
Canada is just now sorted out licensing and such for storefronts to sell their abundant stache of safe, inspected, mostly smokable weed. Canada built out their marijuana legal system from pharma pot legislation and the only form available until recently was smokable products, which ain't healthy or desirable for a lot of us.
Canada still has some Nixon and Nancy types agravating packaging and advertising for promoting our products. We've got plain wrappers plastered with warning symbols which all look alike unless you read the fine print and also have caps on strength of product that just makes some of them laughable. The US potpreneurs ain't gonna put up with any of that bullshyt. I am already seeing beautiful appealing packaging like Tinley's Beverages that you can almost taste just by looking at it.
We also have problems with possession limits such that you can't legally buy a 6 pack of beverages on a single shopping trip. Gheezus, if they did that with beer there would be uprisings.
Canada is just starting to hit its stride for marketing marijuana in forms that consumers want and it is starting to show in revenues.
It was like we were all dressed up for the date and couldn't go while the overhead added up and what we could sell was pitiful.
Getting it right in Canada is still a work in progress but slowly coming with expectations of profits to follow, maybe after some competition gets scrubbed out.
Products will have to step up and be good enough for repeat buys from consumers or they will fail!
I tried the Houseplant and it was palatable, not very effective for a buzz but better than just about every other beverage I tasted. A small selection of beverages made their way to shelves and were scooped up for the novelty. I gave most of them a fail!
Still lots of work to do and lobbying by Canopy and the other biggies to get government up to speed on what this new industry needs.
The US still has some time to get it right the first time Stateside to get a fluid, unencumbered cannabinoid business legislated at the Federal level for the biggest greenrush the world will ever see.
I'll see you in the winners circle when the US finalizes their greenrush.
