RE:RE:RE:Back to masks and PPE since over 90% are
hello bog no I didn't at all honestly think you are an antivexer the thought didn't come to my mind specifically about you but more responding to you which as I last posted those who are vaccinated are in fact protected against the Delta variant at this time. The degree of protection from the variant drops drastically between those who are double vaccinated from those who only had their first dose and drops dangerously further for those who are not even single vaccinated and this is where most of the spread and cases are and unfortunately deaths as well. While people who have been vaccinated are supposedly protected against the Delta variant what you need to do is use common sense because it was stated that for those who have one vaccine if I am not mistaken you had about 80 percent protection and the second it was like 95 to 98 percent but again it all is relative to what is meant "protected" with the vaccine even only the first dose I tend to strongly believe that you will not end up in the hospital and or die but how hard one is hit varies person to person but this is why you are encouraged to get vaccinated to lessen the chances of hospitalization and ventilators this goes for double vaccinated as well in terms of how affected each individual is but theoretically nobody should either be hospitalized or die...that is what the science is currently saying. Another thing to consider is the efficacy of the vaccines potency. In the US Pfizer initially recommended people to take their second shot two weeks after their first and no later than a month if I am remembering correctly. Canada was a hodge podge because of supply shortage where our health authorities initially stated waiting up to 4 months was OK so that they could get as many people having their first vaccine as possible. Upon further studies my brother is saying the sweet spot is actually 2 months so what Pfizer initially recommended may not be the most effective providing what my brother is telling me is correct but because I haven't verified this people should follow what Pfizer said second dose after 2 weeks before the months end unless this has been updated you go by the current findings. In Canada we are very behind and dependent on sourcing stuff. I have and always will push for rapid tests despite the vaccines and it is for a very simple reason and that is right now children under 12 can not get vaccinated just yet as a serum was not tested for them and until it is you need to protect this populace as well as the elderly and immune compromised. Now while people who are vaccinated on the normative whole will not be hospitalized or die from the virus as I said in the last post science is saying we have the same virus load as a non vaccinated person and can spread it. It is therefore important if people are pushing to take off their masks they are bloody certain they are not infectious or have the virus but you will see why I will say I wouldn't recommend to unmask but everyone should still do so. The testing when I was reading on them are at best 97.5 accurate and the rapid ones around the 90 percent mark. The problem is you will get false positives as well as false negatives and no detection hence asymptomatic. Initially, to try to get an accurate reading what was done is you would take the first test see what it says and a week later take another and see what it says if it confirmed covid or not it would be likely the test is accurate but still it is not 100 percent at least I am not convinced and who is to say you don't pick up covid if not vaccinated and not careful. Now what if you get two conflicting tests the recommendation is to take a third to verify so what best 2/3 or how many times will you test to get an accurate outcome. I wasn't accepting the ideal testing of from the first to second week saying the same thing so how on Earth would I accept anything less? My approach to this is higher than what courts use beyond a reasonable doubt for non death states because I will put it this way peoples lives are on the line with covid so I need as close to 100 percent as you can get to protect them...in Canada we abolished the death sentence in 1976 but the philosophy of Canadian law is that we would rather have 10 guilty people go unpunished than to convict 1 innocent yet it has still happened too many times despite this philosophy. In any case this is why I will always say until herd immunity is achieved everyone should wear masks but my brother made a valid point for those who have fully vaccinated and who have done what they were asked why should they and not the non vaccinated suffer and I agree with him and as I said about the antivexer if you want your individual right not to vaccinate I also want my right for you not to spread it to the rest of us because of what I said about stomping out the virus and not having any more stupid variants. As for my testing no I did not because it was not available for one and for two I don't want things stuck up my nose but having said this I do wear my mask despite being double vaccinated for all the reasons I am giving. In regards to duration initially as to my understanding it was is believed that the serum should last 6 months but as far as developing antibodies and resistance as to my understanding is that it may weaken over time it isn't permanent and the reason why there are talks about the booster although Dr Falci is saying the science at this time doesn't support having to administer it but the problem is everyone is giving their best guess and things can and obviously do change with more and more research. Regretfully I am not an expert and I can't even begin to guess as to how all this will go so the only thing I can say is follow the current recommendations with one major exception wear your masks in all indoor spaces but as long as you socially distance outdoors then I will concede it is likely safe not 100 percent but safe enough to pull it down but only if you think wearing it is a pain I would suggest keep it up although I haven't yeah this sounds hypocritical but remember my stance is to get as close to 100 percent safety as possible so if I trust the efficacy is strong enough being double vaccinated I won't die or get badly ill well maybe I feel it in having sore throats or whatever but when I am with older people inside spaces distance and masks mostly but if they have double vaccinated I may be lax believing we should have from last shot at least 2 months immunity but again this is all unknown and people will need to make decisions which protect them and as much as others. I have a 94 old great Uncle on dialysis. His daughter invited my family and others extended family over on the 22nd to celebrate his birthday and all of us dropped our masks my Uncle and Aunt Dad's older brother 77 and his Sister and law not vaccinated...so here you go...but that is all taking chances. The only close 100 percent get fully vaccinated socially distance wear your masks at all places and times anything less you keep increasing the possibility to get and spread the virus.
