RE:RE:RE:RE:The FedSo that's what you 'herd' is it mm? Ha ha ha
I spent all of 2020 in Thailand, a decision based on my thinking that Thailand had it more together than Canada seemed to, and what transpired proved that to be a correct assessment. All through 2020 Thailand was basically Covid 19 free. But now the Delta variant is ripping through the country with terrible results. And there is no possible way the same wont happen in the US. Sure some will be saved by the vaccine but many wont. And since the big economic recovery that was scheduled in by the Fed was in large part based on a big uptick in indoor dining, one must now start to question the recovery.
I herd that Kinross is also doing the 5% buyback deal. Makes sense that many gold companies would do that. I hope EDV is buying heavy these days. 5% of 250 million shares is 12.5 million which would be a hundred thousand a day for 125 days or about half the days the market is open in a year. With the very low volume these days , buying that many shares would have to have a big impact. But I really don't understand the price movements in EDV. Today for example, GDX is up almost 3% and EDV only 1.23% at this point. Who is selling?
Why would anyone sell EDV. This year should earn about $1.5 Billion US above cash costs for sure, and depending on what gold does in the next 5 months, perhaps that much over AISC. Now sure they still need pay taxes, royalties, and countries share, but seems that should still leave a $ billion. And the market cap is a mere $6 billion US. With no , or no significant, debt. And higher production coming. And young , long life mines. And, and , and.....
