RE:RE:RE:Beyond Step 3....

RE:RE:RE:Beyond Step 3....I certainly would love to ditch the mask, but Ontario is taking a cue from other parts of the world where they have de-masked and now are reversing course. Unlike many US southern states, we don't have the option to dine outdoors come late October to April which is over 5 months of krappy weather. If Ontario moves too fast and we have to revert due to a lockdown our resto dining business is shuttered again. They are taking baby steps, better safe than sorry.

babedinkleman wrote: They've had us in masks for a year now.....I remember it just like it was yesterday...."We just need everyone to wear a mask for 2 weeks to a month and we'll beat this thing".  Ummm sure.
Masks are a deterrent for some to go out and enjoy a meal....and no....many have no interest in going to a restaurant and having to put on a mask to go to the washroom or be served by a waitress wearing a mask and a face shield.
It's RIDICULOUS at this point that Ontario is having to go all the way to Israel to find another jurisdiction other than Quebec to justify this nonsense.
As for 'capacity limits will be lifted for all sectors' that's good....but with restaurants having to abide by a capacity limiting distancing rule of 2 metres it's a moot point.  They can't open at pre pandemic capacities with those distancing rules period. It's truly disgusting.

At the exit step, capacity limits will be lifted for all sectors, as well as for social gatherings and public events.

So we wear all wear a mask for a few more months or until the Spring. Not a big deal as long as we can avoid shutdowns of indoor dining again during our long winter months.

babedinkleman wrote: Breaking news....Dumb Dougie says masks are here to stay and restaurants must continue their current restrictions of barriers and 2 metre distancing even once the thresholds for moving past step 3 are met. What a complete fcuking idiot
