RE:RE:RE:Would love some insight"even George" here...I agree with Turn, pure fluff. What we're looking for is actual sample descriptions with downhole lithology, mineralogy and porosity indications. We have only mud logs suggesting these things. Also, for a producible zone you want to see live oil shows, indicated by pale yellow fluorescence and a streaming cut. Most of the oil shows appear to be dead oil, but it still shows that oil was there at some point.
remember, these are stratigraphic test wells that were meant to prove the presence of a sedimentary basin and what kind of rocks are in this basin. It appears that Recon has a sedimentary basin, but they still haven't said what the rocks are, or what the logs and cores show. They know this by now!
and btw, a VSP is only done to tie the formations in the well to the seismic line, and to help choose the parameters for seismic data processing.
the ridiculous fluff continues - what is Horizon mud logging doing calling themselves "partners" with Recon - they're an independent third party contractor. And to have them claim that this is a "world class" play is totally beyond their pay grade. And don't get me going on the "working" petroleum system again. It's either a petroleum system or it's not. No adjectives required. If there's such a thing as a "working" petroleum system, is there an "unemployed" petroleum system?
Finally, everyone needs to chill and wait for real data to come out. Even if it's just the presence of sedimentary basins with some sort of hydrocarbon shows, that would be a big step forward. Turn to theright is correct, it will take years to know what's there. I just wish Recon would stop the ridiculous hype....
