Magnet Forensics Announces The Auxtera Project to Improve Access to Justice by Supporting Organizations in Need

08/11/2020

Charitable platform will donate digital forensics tools and connect volunteered technical services from trained professionals to those in need.

Waterloo, ON/Herndon, VA, August 11, 2020  — Today, Magnet Forensics announced the creation of The Auxtera Project, a charitable platform to ensure justice is achieved in cases with critical digital evidence—regardless of socio-economic considerations.

“We’re proud to announce The Auxtera Project, a demonstrable contribution towards Magnet Forensics’ mission to help seek justice and protect the innocent,” said Jad Saliba, Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Magnet Forensics. “Digital forensics has been a game-changer in the pursuit of justice. However, not all agencies and citizens have equal access to the powerful tools and skilled professionals required to operate them. The Auxtera Project will help close this gap.”

Within The Auxtera Project, Magnet Forensics will donate its award-winning digital investigation software to those in the justice sector that do not otherwise have the resources to perform critical forensic examinations, including police agencies, public defenders, charities and not-for-profits. In addition, The Auxtera Project will also bring together members of Magnet Forensics team and the broader digital forensics community to donate their time to organizations who require the technical skills of an examiner.

“We welcome members of the digital forensics community to volunteer their time and expertise alongside the team at Magnet Forensics in pursuit of justice for all citizens, regardless of their socio-economic status,” added Saliba. “Together, we can contribute towards a more just society and help protect the victims of crimes such as human trafficking and child sexual exploitation online.”

Access to The Auxtera Project will initially be available in North America. More details about the project, including software donations, services to eligible beneficiaries, and volunteer opportunities will be outlined at www.TheAuxteraProject.com this Fall.
