What I would question is, if Boston is setting up a research and development hub why would they do it with Bevcanna? The logical choice (if buying into any existing infrastructure) would be somebody like Nextleaf Labs. They have the research licence which allows the research but the licence also allows them perform sensory evaluation. Bevcanna utilizes research performed by others (being another middleman and taking a cut of costs) and merely formulates the flavouring of water for bottling.
Establishing with an existing licence holder is logical as opposed to going through all the hoops of building something brand new. Too many options to JV with somebody who's pre-existing.
