Interesting Congress has advanced legislation that allocates $65 billion to expand high-speed internet access.
Internet for all. Legislation includes $42.5 billion in grants to states aimed largely at ensuring communities without access to broadband finally get it. Under the plan, states would steer federal subsidies to entities that pledged to use the funds to build out high-speed broadband infrastructure to underserved regions. Private companies also would be required to offer low-cost service plans if they take federal funds to help build networks.
