I've said it before, & will probably say it again, but I'm still deeply p*ssed off that GM, Ford, Chrysler (now part of Stellantis), and all of the German OEMs deliberately dragged their feet on the transitions to EV and AV. That's what happens when MBAs take over from Creators-Engineers-Visionaries in the C-Suite.

The Chinese weren't so slow to make the transition. A lot of companies there got their a$$es in gear a full 5 years ago. Just a note in passing here, XPeng (with QNX as OS) yesterday announced plans to double production capacity from 100K to 200K per year, though they didn't announce a time frame.
