What you're referring to is more of a liquidity ratio more so than calculating market cap. Again MUTD was asking where did you study SP valuation? DM is quite liquid and that should be favorable to MC.

Market cap is again quoted SP. on stockexchange trading.

Liabilities and definetely debt in all accounting systems.
