RE:RE:RE:RE:Btb, many thanks for your spot on updatesbtb, the chicken and egg debate will rage on forever, but at the end of the day if your business is selling special widgets, you better have proven economic widgets to sell
There are lots of deep large gold deposits in the world, but the problem is the cost to mine those deposits is not economic with the current technology
It is great to see Mr Halabura involved in the patented selective solution mining technology, and one of the reasons I am excited that the technology is getting close. I guy nick named Mr Potash is definately the guy you want on your team if your business is potash......
Really interesting to see similiar RF heating technology from the heavy oil sector being applied to downhole potash brine heating in his latest patent.
If that and geo thermal heating can drastically reduce the amount of natural gas required to heat the brine, that is huge in a process where natural gas is the biggest cost
As for actual competitors, I am not sure any have fallen by the wayside just yet as none have actually built a producing cavern with the never before proven process with the exception of Western Resources, and they are taking a break to review the data they have put together after running their novel process for a year.
Rumor has it the expected KCI volumes were not there after a year of natural crystallization, and they are tweaking the downhole engineering to improve results.
I hope the engineering improvements are made known, as sub surface selective solution mining regardless of the various techniques should be similiar. Temp of brine / depth of deposit kinda stuff.
This novel unicorn has never been tamed in Saskatchewan, but it is getting close
Exciting stuff as this journey continues to play out, and GSP is right in the middle of it all ...............
