There have been a few comments on various forums that vegans/vegetarians wouldn’t go to Denny’s. Not all family units are strictly vegan/vegetarians and families do tend to dine out together and dining out is an easy
Meatless Monday for non vegan/vegetarian families.
Some of Denny’s history with plant based and/or vegan food can be found in this November 17, 2016 article -

Denny’s Canada Cooks Up New Beyond Burger - July 13, 2020
Long before the June 11
th NR I believe someone on SH suggested that Denny’s was/might be a client of NSP. I don’t have the link in my notes so I may be wrong and it may just have been one of the many rumours out there. I did check the Denny’s Canada menu at that time and the Beyond Burger was on the menu.
***** I just checked both the US and CDN Denny’s menus and this is what is showing:
Denny’s Canada Build-your-own-burger - Lettuce, tomato, red onions and pickles included, you choose the rest. Served with wavy-cut French fries.
No mention of the Beyond Burger on the Denny’s Canada menu that I could find. I haven’t been to a Denny’s to know what they are currently offering under the build-your-own-burger but could be the NSP burger.
Denny’s USA Build-your-own-burger Lettuce, tomato, red onions and pickles included. Served with wavy-cut fries.

***** So we know that a delegation from Denny’s Canada quite some time ago likely had a taste testing session(s) at the NSP test kitchen. They decided to test a limited number of NSP products at a limited number of locations. I have only spoken to one person who had any of the NSP products at Denny’s – the
Garlic Chick-Un Kiev – said they did a good job of it.
The NR suggested that “The carefully chosen selection of NATERA products will be prepared and served using Denny's signature seasonings and sauces, making them unique for their much-valued customers.”
The following quote from this recent article
Restaurants embrace plant-based meat alternatives tailored to their brands - August 4, 2021 could easily apply to Denny’s thinking in testing NSP products:
“There has been a lot of public discussion about plant-based beef and meat substitutes, and whether or not plant-based is a fad or a trend,” SupplyTrack President Tim Fires said in a statement. “But the fact of the matter is, chefs and operators see the plant-based protein category as a flexible option for developing recipes and menu offerings that taste good, and their guests enjoy. Plant-based is now a staple in their repertoire." The NSP June 3
rd NR (10-YEAR EXCLUSIVE MANUFACTURING AND DISTRIBUTION RIGHTS) states: “This facility will be capable of manufacturing a wide range of plant-based alternatives for beef, chicken, pork, fish and shellfish. There are multiple variations within these categories, which in turn provide significant choice for consumers. This in turn creates a significant distribution opportunity through multiple channels.”
I believe that Goodwin stated in one of the recent videos that once manufacturing is happening at the PM location the product “recipes” can be tweaked to the specifications/satisfaction of NSP clients (i.e. Denny’s). Remember taste testing has been done on product from Australia without any tweaking.
*****
I have to agree with odzie1 about the Denny’s thing – I believe it is more significant than a lot of people might think. If the Denny’s Canada testing goes well there is a very good prospect that the NSP products tested will be rolled out to all the Denny’s in Western Canada – 61 locations.
Hard not to believe that the various owners of the 20 restaurants in Eastern Canada wouldn’t follow Dencans lead. In addition once manufacturing is here locally; additional products can be tweaked to Denny’s specifications and added to the rollout.
Earlier when I mentioned Northland Properties Corporation if you didn’t go their website and look around I suggest you do – click on Brands and have a look under Eat and Drink.
:<) It’s been suggested that I have been
touting NSP for years……so I guess if I was to be aggressive or bold I would suggest that NSP products could possibly end up in all the US Denny’s as well.
