A northwestern Ontario MP is hoping to shift focus to adding natural resources based jobs to the regional economy in 2019.
Thunder Bay-Superior North MP Patty Hajdu believes the federal government is starting to make some progress on the Ring of Fire.
Hajdu notes many governments have “tried to crack the Ring of Fire nut”.
Hajdu says other priorities include getting the support that this regions need, whether its investments, improvements to our educational institutions and infrastructure.
The federal Labour Minister says there’s also a need to grow small and medium sized businesses.
This is an election year.
Hajdu heads back to Ottawa on January 14th with the House resuming on the 28th.
