RE:RE:RE:All good Yeah I don't know much about nuclear other than in terms of energy density (Joules per unit mass) the binding energy in the uranium nucleus beats all. In terms of abundant sources hydrocarbons comes next. But for some reason in terms of cost per Joule of energy delivered hydrocarbons beats all. I do not know what that reason is exactly but it has something to do with decommissioning costs. Apparently it is super expensive to take a nuclear power plant out of service safely because everything is loaded with radioactivity (pipes, pumps, valve, concrete etc) and you can't just throw them into any scrap heap.
