Good question.
I am by no means an expert of patent judgements and how damages are calculated. However, if BB and FB don't settle out of court (with a patent agreement - negotiations fall through) the damages awarded to BB would likely be at least 5-10x the WhatsApp fine.

that is, damages would be $1b-$2b or more. Previous posters have given justifications for certain settlement valuations, and this range seems to fall in the "middle ground."
