Absolutely. One component of share price is potential future cash flow. The problem here is getting to that future. Right now, the future is measured in days, not years.
In a couple of years, properly funded and managed, this mine certainly has the potential to deliver cash flow worth way more than the current share price. Normally that would be grounds for hope, but that future cash flow is of no help here. Already in default - that has to be taken care of right NOW, but they don't have the cash now, and won't be able to get it from cash flow in the next few days. So the people who come up with that cash, whoever they may be, are in the driver's seat. They will be able to buy all that potential future cash flow dirt cheap.
When I started my DD on this one (before SR left), I was hoping there might be an opportunity to make some money on a turn around scenario. I've been watching for signs of that turn around ever since, but it hasn't turned out that way. I really expect the mine itself to turn around coming out of the current process. I expect BNP will do fine. I expect Appian will be OK, based not so much on their shares, but based on their debt, royalties, and offtake agreements. But it will surprise me if retail shareholders get much.
I really wish it had worked out differently, but I still don't see any opportunity for me to profit here. But I've been wrong many times before.
