Red Chris history

Red Chris history https://biv.com/article/2015/03/bcs-red-chris-mine-six-decades-making

With estimated reserves of 2.08 billion pounds of copper and 1.32 million ounces of gold, Red Chris is expected to have an annual average production of 30,000 tonnes of ore over three decades once it’s in full production this summer.

But that production plan is based on a 2004 feasibility study, and further exploration has revealed the deposit to be much richer than originally thought.

Initial drilling went to depths of about 400 metres.

Additional exploration between 2007 and 2012 involved drilling to depths of up to 1.5 kilometres to reveal rich veins of copper and gold.

“What’s different about Red Chris is that the previous work that was done was all in the low-grade outer rind of the deposit, whereas what we discovered was the true core of the deposit,”
Robertson said.

The current mine plan is based largely on copper production, but Robertson said the mine has the potential to become a significant gold producer.

sounds like they are saying back in 2004 they had over 2.08 billion pounds of copper and over a million ozs of gold.  And then later they decided too drill alot deeper , like 1500 metres deep and found the core of the deposit.

Sounds like a tooth, like they found the root!

And maybe we should also drill deeper ?

What do you think Chris , you are always referring too Red Chris, huh, do you think this time you found the outer rind or the core?  I think the outer rind, and we undoubtedly he will want too drill alot deeper as well after maybe he drills out the lateral extents. North / South & East/West, then go deeper.

Anyways last year again they started drilling a week later then this year. If labs are still as bad as last year then they had last year 2 holes out from the lab, and they commented on a visual from the 3rd hole. That was on Sept 3rd last year.

So last year they decided too get 2 holes out of the lab and comments verbally in a NR in 50 days after drilling with 1 rig.

Its been since July 7th we got a batch of 6 holes. They say they have 19 holes basically in the lab. But we do not know exactly when they got there.

They have completed a little over 1/2 of their drill program thus far.

  • 1,755 soil geochemical samples were collected on three grids, mostly within a five square kilometre area that joins the south end of the Gate Zone to the historic Man target area.
I wonder if the 2 anomalies can be just one big 3 km deposit?  Then ya it could be as big as Red Chris actually maybe bigger , but that will take alot of time.
