RE:RE:NFG has bonanza gold grades in every zone not to sure about that mega, but it’s a great topic to discuss, and i believe it is a little more complicated than that especially if attempting to establish defined ore reserves.
the Fosterville Mine proved up 8,000+ gram metres at one point, the proven resource was 281,000 tonnes at 58.8g, last year their average grade was 33g tonne with the 2,800tpd Mill Processing running at 75% capacity due to maintenance, breakdowns etc…
instead of 100 let’s use 1,000 gram metres (should be high grade right ?)
1,000 gram metres can be measured the same in many ways;
a) 1,000 metres x 1g is more akin low an open pit setting and may be viable as there is a large distance that would allow for plenty of tonnage when cubed, there are many examples including at Hemlo and Detour Lake.
b) 1 metres x 1,000 grams is a high grade discovery, but may or may not be viable as it is in such a small area, with the total tonnage estimate only determined via additional supportive drilling results culminating in a cubing of the resource, there are also many examples.
same thing, different potential results and mining methods.
in the case of NFGCorp., i am 100% sure we can prove up the Resource of high grade tonnage needed at or near surface and below including, which ES has stated based on the stats, a low all-in cost because of the grade.
megacopper wrote: Swan Zone information below. Another metric often used nowadays is gram meters. Anything over 100 gram meters is considered exceptional, so the results from NFG's Lotto Zone were in excess of 100 gram meters To get this number simply multiply the grade by the intersection width
In particular, the Swan Zone (previously known as Lower Phoenix Footwall) contributed 532,000 ounces at an average grade of 58.8 g/t Au(281,000 tonnes) to the updated Mineral Reserve estimate.
